Kendall Moore, a highly sought after linebacker recruit from Raleigh, North Carolina, is close to deciding where he wants to play college football, so ThaRinger.com decided to catch up with Moore to
discuss his favorites, the announcement, and more.

Though Moore is close to making his pledge to where he wants to
play his college ball, he still knows there is plenty to improve on at
the high school level.

“I have a lot of things I want to improve on.” said the 6’3, 231
pounder. “Mainly my hips, I’m pretty stiff. I need to work on my flexibility and also my size and speed. Those are things you can always improve on.”

On the recruiting front, Moore has a top six, and explained to ThaRinger.Com what he likes about those schools:

Duke: “I like them academically, not many schools can match them in terms of academics. I also feel like their program’s on the rise.”

NC State: “I feel like their program’s on the rise too. Coach Archer and the other coaches have talked about me being the centerpiece of their defense which I like.”

Notre Dame: “They’re a great, great institution. They have a great mix of academics, and they play on the highest level of football.”

South Carolina: “They’re the closest SEC school to Raleigh and they have a pretty good facilities. The atmosphere is ridiculous.”

Florida State: “They have a great tradition, and they have a good football program which is pretty much the number one priority there.”

Maryland: “They’re a great school and a linebacker and they have I used to play with (Demetrius Hartsfield) at Southeast, and I feel like if I went there he could help me out with learning system on defense and fitting in.”

The heralded linebacker prospect also discussed his upcoming decision.

“I actually have a press conference with a commitment ceremony.” Moore said. “I’m doing that on July 11, next Saturday. I’m going to go through the whole picking a hat thing. I chose then because I just wanted to make sure I got it done before the season came around and that way, just in case of an injury, I would still be set with a scholarship”

Has Moore already decided where he is going to make his commitment to?

“Kinda-sort of, I have a real good idea as to where I want to go but I’m still some considering other schools.” Moore said.

Moore also talked about what he might do with his five allotted official visits after he makes his decision.

“That’s a topic I’ve been thinking about.” Moore said. “I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do yet, but I’d like to take all five of my official visits just to make sure the school I choose is a great school like I think it is. I should be able to prove that with my five official visits.”

What is Moore looking for in a school?

“I just want my college to have a good all around package in terms of a fit for me academically and athletically.” Moore described.

Moore currently comes in at #217 in ThaRinger.com’s Top 300 for the Class of 2010.
