London "T" Time
By Nick Leach |
7.12.2010

That's right -- we're talking Virginia and "T" time, and
not the type that involves your grandma's chamomile, nor
the type you call and set instead of cleaning out the
garage on the weekend. "T" time is "Title" time, and
it's going to be celebrated in Charlottesville, Virginia
sooner than you think. Get your laughs in now while you
can because in just a few years Mike London and Co. will
have one of the fastest, nastiest, most fundamentally
sound defenses in the nation that will give the ACC
headaches that not even the strongest herbal remedy tea
could cure.
It's likely your first reaction was to scoff at such an
idea, that UVA could possibly make an appearance as a
national power. They've been atrocious lately you say! A
3-9 record last year and just 5-7 the year before and
that doesn't even begin to describe the abysmal and
pathetic 1-10 record they've compiled against their
rival Virginia Tech in their past 11 meetings. I'll give
you one good, no, scratch that, one great reason why you
will be wrong...
Mike London.

Two on top
By Nick
Leach/ThaRinger.Com
Thud. That’s the
sound the jaws made this
weekend in Massillon, Ohio at the Nike
Ohio
Combine due to the astounding
performance
by Doran Grant. The 2011 recruit out of
St.
Vincent-St.. Mary’s High School in Akron
racked
up a mind boggling 124.50 SPARQ rating,
the new high score on the circuit tour
this year.
With offers stacking up, the race for
the uber-talented cornerback is
beginning to take shape.

5 star caliber
on/off field
By Warren Lent/ThaRinger.Com
Devon Blackmon
has dealt with distractions on
the field his whole life, but nothing
would really
compare to what he tolerated during the
2009
football season. "We had our time during
the season
and we were going through some issues.
We
weren't really focused because we had so
many distractions and couldn't maintain
a consistency of winning."....

were created equally.

Southern (Ohio) speed?

On a
night of firsts, the team representing the lower half of
the state in the 65th annual Ohio North-South
All-Star Classic eked out a 23 – 20 victory by sticking
to some tried and true football axioms.
The geneses introduced for this years’ game
included moving it from a summer date to the spring,
playing it on a Friday night, and scheduling it the
night before the annual Ohio State spring game.
All of which (in this writers opinion) should
become embedded into the traditions of this the nations
longest running high-school football all star game.
Not the least of which is playing the game on a
Friday night.
I mean, isn’t that a federal law for all high
school football games by now?
