Drake

ATH

James Wilder

Tampa, FL

Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Florida

Ledford: Regardless of the various pitches he’s heard, in the end it’s about where he’s most comfortable and who he trusts most, and that‘s UF and Urban Meyer.

Drake: He has recently come out and said he will likely wait until after he takes some official visits to decide publicly. If he does wait, it's only delaying the inevitable. He's a Gator.

LB

Tony Steward

St. Augustine, FL

Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami

Ledford: Childhood Nole fan loves the new coaching staff and atmosphere in Tallahassee.

Drake: The once big lead that FSU had for Steward is dwindling and he even came out a couple weeks ago and named Clemson his leader. A visit to Alabama is on the horizon and possibly stops in Tallahassee and Gainesville after that. For now, I still think he's a 'Nole.

RB

Isaiah Crowell

Columbus, GA

Florida State, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama

Ledford: I’ve always thought Crowell would be a Dawg in the end despite the drama, and UGA getting Jarvis Jones seemed to increase the chances of that happening. Crowell is a lifelong UGA fan and just seemed destined for Athens from the start.

Drake: Two team race between Georgia and Alabama. With each passing day I get more confident in the UGA projection. He has genuine interest in the Crimson Tide and he'll make the fan base sweat until close to NSD, but in the end he's a Bulldog.

DE

Jadeveon Clowney

Rock Hill, SC

North Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina

Ledford: The football factory at South Pointe HS keeps churning out top notch recruits and is becoming a Gamecock pipeline. Expect Clowney to join his former Stallion teammates Stephon Gilmore and Devonte Holloman in Columbia.

Drake: See above. Alabama and North Carolina fans shouldn't get their hopes up.

DE

Ray Drew

Thomasville, GA

Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Clemson

Ledford: Drew has a strong bond with HC Mark Richt and the UGA staff, and likes the atmosphere at UGA.

Drake: Have no idea here. Could see him ending up at any of the schools mentioned. For now I'm going with the safe pick in Georgia. Clemson has family ties, Florida State has been on him from the outset, and Auburn has made a nice push with the atmosphere on the plains. This one will go until close to NSD.

TE

Nick O'Leary

Palm Beach, FL

Florida, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina, Georgia

Ledford: O’Leary is a big fan of the way UM uses the TE and their tradition at the position. Proximity to home also helps Miami.

Drake: Alabama, Florida State, and Miami people all feel confident in their pursuit of O'Leary. He loves the use of the tight ends at both Miami and Alabama, but he has the best relationship with the FSU staff. If Florida State can prove to him during the 2010 season that the tight end will be involved more -- I might be changing this pick.

DE

Jermauria Rasco

Shreveport, LA

LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Texas

Ledford: Rasco has been an LSU lean throughout the process and LSU almost always lands their in-state targets, but the AU staff is on him hard and has been known to pull upsets in recruiting.

Drake: Too much pulling him to LSU. If those coaches in Baton Rouge want him I can't see him going anywhere else.

WR

Kelvin Benjamin

Belle Glade, FL

Miami, Florida, LSU, West Virginia, Florida State

Ledford: Benjamin was a Cane lean from the start, but UF prioritized him and has recruited him the hardest. KB has a strong relationship with Coach Azzanni and just recently named the Gators his leader.

Drake: If Florida can prove to him that their offense is trending towards the pro-style sets that he prefers this pick could change. At this point I'll still go with the Canes.

ATH

Kris Frost

Matthews, NC

Auburn, Michigan, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Cal, North Carolina

Ledford: Frost seems to love the family atmosphere and the overall feel on The Plains and he’s very comfortable with the AU staff.

Drake: North Carolina impressed him on his visit, LSU and Cal will get visits, and he's always loved Michigan, but Auburn is the pick here. The way Auburn went about recruiting Frost as a receiver and the tight group of coaches and players has the Tigers on top.

TE

Jay Rome

Valdosta, GA

Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Clemson

Ledford: As a Clemson legacy (his father, Stan, played football and basketball at CU) Jay is most familiar with them and he likes the way the Tigers utilize the TE in their offense.

Drake: Clemson has led since birth.

WR

Sammy Watkins

Fort Myers, FL

Miami, Florida, Clemson

Ledford: Grew up a Miami fan and is one of their top priorities at WR. With a big assist from Teddy Bridgewater, Watkins should be a Cane.

Drake: I don't see Kelvin Benjamin and Watkins signing with the same team. This pick is as simple as that. If Benjamin ends up in Gainesville -- my pick will change.

ATH

C.J. Uzomah

Suwanee, GA

LSU, Auburn

Ledford: Uzomah is being recruited as a QB by some and an “ATH” by others, but LSU is telling him he can come compete at QB. He will visit LSU in late July. Think the Tigers pull him.

Drake: He's looking to decide in the next couple weeks after he visits LSU. As previously said, LSU will give him the chance to be a QB, but Malzahn will better his opportunity to play on Sundays at WR or TE and I think he knows it. Auburn also promises an occasional QB package for him.

RB

Mike Blakely
Bradenton, FL

Florida, South Carolina, Auburn

Ledford: Blakely is a big fan of the Florida program and is one of the top priorities at RB for UF. Early PT will be a big factor in Blakely’s decision.

Drake: Auburn did a really nice job of getting in on Blakely, but the Florida offer is going to be very hard to beat. The one hiccup for Blakely with UF could be the depth chart. Also, lots of people at Manatee are saying Ace Sanders is pushing South Carolina very hard and Blakely loved his trip up to Columbia. Stay tuned.

OLB

Curtis Grant

Richmond, VA

Alabama, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Florida, Georgia Tech

Ledford: The Hokies seem to have the best shot at landing Grant at the moment. He wants to play as soon as possible, so depth chart and need at the LB position should factor into his decision and VT has that, as well as proximity to home, in it‘s favor.

Drake: He's enamored with the idea of playing in the SEC. If he can get his family on board the Gators should have a great chance.

OLB

Stephone Anthony
Wadesboro, NC

North Carolina, Clemson, Florida

Ledford: Anthony loves the competitive environment and the family atmosphere in Gainesville. The opportunity for early PT is a plus as well.

Drake: One of Florida's best recruiters.

ATH

Quan Bray

Hogansville, GA

Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee

Ledford: He likes the staff at UGA, their scheme and the way they plan to utilize him on offense (RB/slot WR).

Drake: He wants to be one of the focal points on offense in college. I think Alabama can sell that better than Georgia can with the depth chart and the Tide have had him in their crosshairs for over two years. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if he picked neither school.

MLB

Lamar Dawson

Danville, KY

Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Southern Cal

Ledford: Highly sought after MLB is a Kentucky native and grew up a UK fan. Dawson has a great relationship with the staff in Lexington and could start immediately.

Drake: Florida put on a good visit for him and he really likes Louisville, but Joker Phillips and staff have the bond with him that I don't think will break.

OT

Greg Robinson

Thibodaux, LA

Auburn, LSU

Ledford: His heart is in the Bayou, he just wants to make sure before pulling the trigger. Good bond w/ Coach Frank Wilson and a lot of the LSU recruits.

Drake: Trovon Reed holds a lot of pull for Greg and the AU staff is doing an outstanding job for a player at a position of need. It's hard to pick against LSU here, but the offense, Trovon Reed, and the early playing time give the Tigers the edge.

RB

Dee Hart

Orlando, FL

Auburn, Michigan, Alabama

Ledford: Dee likes the family atmosphere at AU and he’s a perfect fit in their offense.

Drake: Clinton-Dix is all over him about Bama and Auburn is a great fit for him, but I just think he wants to be a Wolverine. Ricardo Miller and his family being there helps a ton. If Rich Rodriguez can stabilize that program in time for NSD, Dee will be in Ann Arbor next year.

DB

Christion Jones

Adamsville, AL

Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn

Ledford: Christion grew up a Bama fan, but has been an AU lean throughout the process. Recently visited Tuscaloosa & it seems Bama has turned the heat up on him

Drake: What the heck is going on over at Minor? One minute he's an Auburn lock and the next minute he's wide open and looking hard at Bama. Lots more about this story that can't be said now. For the moment I say Alabama lands the versatile DB.

OT

Brandon Shell

Goose Creek, SC

Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina

Ledford: Behemoth tackle is a high priority for the Gamecocks. Depth chart and proximity to home are big advantages for them as well.

Drake: Clemson has really hurt their chances recently. Lots of Georgia rumblings, but I'll stick with my gut and say Carolina.

DE

Stephon Tuitt

Monroe, GA

Notre Dame, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Miami, Auburn, Clemson

Ledford: Tuitt has visited GT several times already. He has a good relationship with the staff at GT and could contribute there immediately.

Drake: It's been Georgia Tech and everyone else from the start of his recruitment.

DT

Gabe Wright

Columbus, GA

Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama

Ledford: Recent trip to Knoxville blew him away. He’s built a great relationship with the staff and a lot of the incoming Vol recruits. He also seems most comfortable there.

Drake: Strange recruitment. Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee people all feel confident in their chances. I'll stick with a source and say UT.

OLB

Lateek Townsend

Bennettsville, SC

Southern Cal, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina, LSU

Ledford: Lateek is most familiar with Clemson and their staff. He loves the atmosphere and feel there and LB is a priority for CU.

Drake: Clemson has been the constant here. I'd be pretty shocked if Lateek wasn't signing papers to attend CU come February.

Jabari Gorman Q&A

Jabari Gorman of Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, FL is one of the most sought after prospects in the state. The 5’10.5”, 170-pound Gorman stars on both sides of the ball for the Spartans and currently holds more than 20 offers from schools all across the country. TR recently caught up with Jabari to ask him a few questions about his recruitment.

Crowell on Ohio State visit, timeline

Ever since he received a scholarship offer from Ohio State last month, Conner Crowell has wanted to take a return visit to Columbus.  His previous visit for the contest with Southern Cal last fall had left him with a great first impression of the Buckeyes.  Saturday’s annual Scarlet vs. Gray Spring Game was the perfect chance for the 6’1”, 215 pound linebacker from Waldorf (MD) North Point to get another look at the program.

Myles away from home

West Chester, PA linebacker Myles Jackson is a very physical linebacker who plays the game with aggression.  He moves extremely well for a player at 6’4”, 225 pounds and shows a lot of athleticism.  He seems to play with a bit off a chip on his shoulder too which will only aid the search for his first offer.

Saulsberry shines in Gainesville

Last weekend, the Nike Football Training Camp made it’s way through Gainesville, Florida and it was one of Gainesville’s own that made perhaps the biggest splash. Trevarris Saulsberry exploded onto the scene in his own backyard as the 6’4”, 260-pound defensive lineman from Gainesville High stole the show.
